Back up data and take system down
This information is primarily for administrators and/or people who manage Zylinc solutions

To back up additional data, you can choose between the following two alternatives:

-
On the Zylinc Windows Application Server, zip the following folders if they exist, and move the zip files to the backup folder:
-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0
-
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 8.0. ...
-
Repeat the previous step for each additional Tomcat instance you may have.
-
C:\ProgramData\Zylinc
-
C:\Zylinc
-
C:\ZyCore Device
-
C:\Program Files\Zylinc\ApacheInstances
-
-
Back up the following registry keys to files in the backup folder, if the keys exist:
-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0
-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0
-

At your own risk, you can use this batch file to back up the folders and registry keys described in the previous:
On the Zylinc Windows Application Server:
- Download Create Zylinc backups before upgrade V1.0.zip to the computer’s desktop, and extract the zip file.
- Run the batch file.
- Move backups_before_upgrade from your desktop to the backup folder. If PowerShell 5 is available, it's a zipped folder. If not, you can manually zip the folder.

On the Zylinc Windows Application server:
- Stop the Windows service with the name Zylinc Queue Manager, or Zylinc Switch Proxy if you use on an old version. This will disconnect users and prevent new logins.
- Stop the remaining Zylinc-related services, including all instances of Apache Tomcat services, but leave SQL Server service running.
- Use Windows task manager to stop any instances of ZyDesk that may run in any user session on the Zylinc Windows Application Server.
If some of the old services refuse to stop, you can use task manager to stop any remaining processes.
